Bajaj Auto sales in November declined 1 percent year-on-year to 3.72 lakh units, due to sluggish demand for motorcycles and a slip in exports.

The India's second largest two-wheeler maker said motorcycle sales last month fell 2 percent to 3.27 lakh units. It dispatched 1.5 lakh units of the Discover range of motorcycles. Discovers and the sportier Pulsars contributed to 68 percent of bike sales, it said.

Commercial vehicle sales, meanwhile, were up 7 percent to 45,566 units and growth in sales of diesel three-wheelers and market share gains continue, it said.

Bajaj Auto's exports were down 4 percent at 1.24 lakh units in November.

In the April-Nov period, the company's total sales are down 4 percent to 29.12 lakh units. Motorcycle sales year-to-date fell 3 percent, CV sales were down 11 percent and exports slipped 5 percent.

India's top two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp had Saturday reported a 6 percent decline in total sales for November at 5.02 lakh units.

At 10:10 hrs, Bajaj Auto shares were down 0.1 percent at 1,928.45 on NSE on Monday. Hero Moto was down about 1 percent at 1,810.10.
