In the month ended September 2012, the company's global wholesales fell by 4% year-on-year to 1.03 lakh units amid declining demand for passenger vehicles.
Even its UK subsidiary Jaguar & Land Rover's sales declined 4% to 26,461 units. Land Rover shipped 23,653 units in September, while Jaguar sales were at 2,808 units.
Sales of its passenger vehicles went down by 11% year-on-year to 48,895 units but commercial vehicles' sales, which include Tata and units Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera, rose by 3% to 54,761 units in September.
At 09:48 hours IST, the share was trading at Rs 264.30, down 1.87% after hitting an intraday low of Rs 262.95.
Yesterday, the share fell 0.44% to close at Rs 269.35.
